Mirrors and reflections. The mysticism of mirrors: why you shouldn’t take pictures of your reflection

A couple of months ago I caught myself thinking that I had the same nightmare every night. In this nightmare, I “emerge” from one dream into another (I have a nightmare, I wake up, but then it turns out that this is also a nightmare, but a different one) and so on several nightmares (about 3-4). The plot and order of the nightmares are always the same, completely identical (that is, after “awakening” in the next nightmare, I remember all the plots of all the previous ones). Moreover, I understand that this is a dream, but I can’t wake up until I “finish” the last one. After the last one I really woke up.

It happened that during the night I had this nightmare within a nightmare 2-3 times, that is, after actually waking up, I would go to bed and the nightmare within a nightmare would begin again.

This happened when I was 22 years old. I lived in a rented apartment with my fiance and a cat. That evening the groom was at work, so I whiled away the time in the company of my beloved cat. I must say that my cat is very, very strange. If she is dissatisfied with something or if she doesn’t like someone or something, she begins to growl loudly, whether the neighbors are making noise in the entrance, or the intercom is ringing, or she simply doesn’t like the guest who came to us. In fact, it is very funny from the outside, we even joke that she behaves like a big and angry dog.

My story is not so much scary as it is strange.

I live alone and, as always, in the evening before going to bed, I went to the shower. I had just turned on the water when a strange knock was heard from the corridor. I froze, because I was alone in the apartment, there were no animals either.

Having calmed down a little, assuring myself that I had heard it, I turned on the water again. The knock was repeated and the light suddenly went out. I was so scared that I couldn’t even scream, but the worst was yet to come.

Suddenly, the crash of a broken mirror was heard from the hallway. I have never experienced such horror before! The light turned on again, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave the bathroom, I already regretted that I didn’t have a mobile phone nearby to call my parents.

Let me start with the fact that Tanya and Misha are an ordinary young family. They got married in 2010, took out a mortgage, bought a two-room apartment in a Khrushchev building, gave birth to a son, and a year later another one.
Tanya worked in a bank before her maternity leave, Misha works for an international IT company, writes programs, goes on business trips to Italy and France, brings gifts, takes the family to the sea, goes with my husband to the bathhouse and fishing, often the whole family comes to for the weekend (we live outside the city). Misha works with my husband in the same company, only my husband tests the programs that Misha writes. Something like this…

In general, one day, when Misha and Tanya had only one son, we met as families in nature.

We were all children once. And we all loved to do all sorts of stupid things, like telling fortunes and summoning all sorts of devils and “foul-mouthed gnomes.” But did we know then what could happen to us and what it could lead to? Hardly.

One day my friends and I decided to tell fortunes on mirrors. They brought two huge mirrors from somewhere and placed them opposite each other. We lit candles and were just about to start casting some kind of “spell” when, fortunately for us, the mother of one of the girls burst into the room.

Seeing what we were doing, she instantly turned on the light and put out the candles. I have never seen a person in such hysterics. She just screamed at us, and when she calmed down, we asked why she was so panicked.

I read somewhere on the Internet a single sentence - they say, if you look into your eyes in the mirror for a long time, you will see the devil - and I remembered one incident from my life. I didn’t know anything about it then - I just came back from the street one day, started unbuttoning my jacket and looked in the mirror. I combed my hair and looked again. And somehow it so happened that I began to amuse myself by looking at my reflection without taking my eyes off it.

On the eve of the battle, Alexander the Great saw himself in the mirror: on a dashing horse and in a shining helmet. The old sage predicted victory for him. And Alexander won...

Mysticism of mirrors has been worrying humanity for a long time: what is on the other side of the mirror? A door to another world intertwined with the real one? Or maybe, really, a mirror is just a neutral strip on the border of parallel worlds?

In Rus', fortune telling on mirrors was considered one of the most accurate, but also the most terrible. The girl was placed in front of her with a mirror and candles on either side of it, but she had to sit in such a way that she could not see her reflection. It was believed that if she saw her betrothed in the mirror and he beckoned her, and she did not have time to cross herself three times and say: “Forget me!”, she could die.

Another fortune telling was even more terrible: two mirrors were placed opposite each other so that an endless corridor was formed. In this corridor you can see your destiny, but it was also believed that you yourself could get lost in it. By the way, scientists fully admit this turn of events: if the astral world exists and in it each of us has our own double, then it means that we can look into our future through it. But if you do not block the astral corridor in a timely manner, then the astral entity can penetrate into our world or drag you into its own.

Mysticism of mirrors

Esotericists believe that Lucifer himself invented the mirror. Therefore, meetings with astral doubles from the world of the looking glass have always been considered very dangerous. But the author of the book “Life after Death,” the famous writer R. Moody, tried to refute this point of view by working on a new book and using mirrors. The book “All about Encounters after Death” contains a description of experiments during which different people simultaneously saw the same images in mirrors.

What a huge number of stories about the ghosts of dead relatives appearing in mirrors have been accumulated by humanity! For example, the Society for Psychical Research (England, 16th-20th centuries) left a whole collection of descriptions of such cases. Studying them, R. Moody decided to make a “vision chamber” on the second floor of his mill in Alabama. To do this, he covered the walls and windows with thick curtains and shutters, and placed a huge mirror on one of the walls. There was a comfortable chair opposite the mirror, but the person sitting in it could not see his reflection.

As a result of the experiment, half of the participants saw their deceased relatives in the reflection. One of the first volunteers to see his late mother was a 40-year-old banker from New York, who held a high position and had no mental disorders or diseases of the nervous system. He claimed that he not only saw his late mother in perfect health, but also heard her say that everything was fine with her. Participants in the experiment in the “vision chamber” say that they could not shake the feeling that the entities from the world through the looking glass knew more than the living.

Perhaps modern science is able to explain mirror phenomena. After all, it is known that the left and right hemispheres of the human brain perform different functions. The left is considered an “expert” in details, but is unable to create a coherent image or idea of something. But the right hemisphere does this very well, and thanks to its properties we see objects and phenomena in all their versatility. It is believed that it is right-hemisphere thinking that is inherent in people of creative specialties and thanks to it they receive intuitive insights and insights. Physiological scientists believe that the right hemisphere is responsible for the perception of images received from the information field of our Universe.

There are 34 of them in Egypt, 16 in Latin America, and more than a hundred in Tibet! We are talking about stone “mirrors”, inside which time and matter change their properties. Russian scientist N. Kozyrev created an analogue of natural stone mirrors in the laboratory, creating them from metal plates. Inside these structures, time changes its characteristics, because, according to the scientist, it represents energy that can be compressed and distributed. Doesn't this explain the fact that the people who participated in Kozyrev's experiment saw themselves as children?

The stone mirrors located on the northern and western slopes of Mount Kailash are giant concave planes. The height of the largest of them reaches 1800 meters. The Tibetan Dalai Lamas call it the “House of the Lucky Stone” and are confident that the mirrors were created by highly developed civilizations that once inhabited our Earth. Lamas are confident that time and space inside these (man-made?) structures change under the influence of subtle energies that “know how” to concentrate mirrors.

Not only among the people, but also among scientists, it is believed that a mirror is the only object that has memory and is capable of storing information not just for a long time, but for millennia! As proof, there are a lot of examples where people, having bought an antique mirror, began to see the former owners in it. One case is widely known: a family from St. Petersburg, while in Germany, purchased an antique mirror from an elderly lady. As soon as it was mounted on the wall in the bedroom, troubles began: the couple lost sleep, and if they fell asleep, they saw only nightmares associated with fire. As soon as the mirror was removed from the bedroom, it became easier, but the couple decided to follow through and find out the history of their acquisition. After contacting the seller, they found out that the mirror hung in a house where all the inhabitants died in a fire 60 years ago.

Did you know that when you are in a bad mood and look at yourself in the mirror, you charge it with negative energy? You look at yourself and note that your face is terrible, your clothes are just ugly, and your hair is a nightmare. "Everything is bad!" - you think, but the mirror remembers this information and does not plan to please you in the future.

Today, when the special properties of mirrors are already known, it makes sense to listen to the advice of experienced psychologists and use the mirror not for self-criticism and pouring out your bile in front of it, but, on the contrary, to recharge it with positive energy. This is why psychologists recommend looking in the mirror less often, especially in a bad mood. And if you should approach him, then only with a smile. A positive program strengthened and returned by the mirror will help relieve stress, tune in to good luck and lift your spirits. And there will be nothing supernatural in this, because it was you who “tuned” the mirror to this wavelength.

How to handle mirrors?

For mirrors to work “positively”, you need to understand How Right handle mirrors

So, you need to learn just a few rules.

  1. You cannot hang a mirror in the hallway directly opposite the front door, because positive energy, having entered your house through the door, encountering a mirror on its way, immediately “turns around and leaves.” You will feel the results for yourself: in a de-energized (energy) room you will always feel tired and lethargic, chronic bad luck will become your friend.
  2. If the bathroom is located near the front door, useful energy will also flow out of your home very quickly. To avoid this, you just need to hang a large mirror on the outside of the toilet or bathroom.
  3. If you enter a room through a long narrow corridor, the energy, accelerating in this tunnel, “skips” past the living quarters. To change the properties of energy, you need to hang small mirrors on the walls in the corridor in a checkerboard pattern.
  4. Don't hang mirrors in your bedroom, or at least make sure they don't reflect your bed. Mirrors in which a person is reflected during sleep return to him all the negativity accumulated during the day.
  5. But in the dining room, the mirror should reflect everything that is on the dining table. Let all your goodies and culinary delights attract abundance into your home.
  6. Not enough money? Place the bills in front of the mirror so that they are reflected and start waiting for the results.
  7. If possible, use mirrors in your home that reflect you at full length. If the mirror visually “cuts” you, you will more often feel unwell and tired. By the way, for the same reason you cannot lay out walls with mirror tiles.

I want to tell you a really scary story about a mirror that happened to me and my wife.

It all started when my wife and I bought a new apartment. They saved for about five years, denied themselves everything, and finally, after selling a room in a communal apartment, they were able to get a one-room apartment. It turned out to be relatively cheap, and there was a reason for it - our new abode was destroyed. Repairs suggested themselves. But the worst place was the bathroom. Brown enamel, half chipped small tiles, a cracked sink, radiators repainted ten times, with rust constantly showing through. It was scary to be there, let alone wash or soak in the bath.

We figured it out in advance. We went to see my wife’s parents in Ufa, contacting a large repair company. She was recommended by her brother; he seems to have worked with them several times himself – I liked everything. They promised to finish it in two weeks, although, of course, they paid a lot of money for it. We were still a little nervous when we left, but upon arrival, everything turned out to be beyond praise.

We were greeted by a clean white bathroom, fresh and beautiful. New faucets, radiator, sink, shampoo cabinet with a recessed mirror. Indeed, everything was done conscientiously and without mistakes. The next day I went to the company, picked up the keys to the apartment and paid in full. In a good way, this should have been the end of the story, but everything was just beginning.

About two days later I was sitting in front of the TV, and my wife, meanwhile, went to the bathroom. I was even lucky enough to doze off a little when my wife suddenly screamed. Then she jumped naked into the room with her eyes maddened with horror, pointing her finger towards the bathroom. I went there, but didn't find anything. The wife said that when she was washing, she saw an old woman in the mirror looking at her angrily.

I chalked it all up to the horror movie I watched the day before. You never know what will seem. But the next morning I went to the shower myself. I turned on the hot water and the bathroom instantly filled with steam. After washing myself, I lubricated my cheeks with foam for shaving. He wiped the foggy glass and was dumbfounded. From there an unkempt old woman looked at me angrily. We literally froze, hardly moving, only our eyes moved.

Suddenly the old woman hit the mirror, as if trying to break it from the other side. The cabinet shook a little. She swung her fists again and again, furiously opening her toothless mouth, from which saliva flowed. I grabbed a large towel and threw it over the cabinet with the mirror. The blows stopped. I wiped off the foam with trembling hands; I didn’t manage to shave that day, and then I told my wife everything.

We thought for a long time what to do. We've seen a lot of different films, but we always considered this to be fiction. And we certainly never thought that this could happen to us. The wife decided that it was the ghost of someone who lived in this apartment. I had to check.

I spent two days breaking through all the residents of this apartment since the building was built. No old woman lived here. There was an elderly woman with her family, but she also moved out “with her own feet” and did not die. Then we decided to just remove this mirror. Of course, this was easier said than done.

It was glued to liquid nails, from which it had to be peeled off. The old woman, silently looking at all this, at the moment when I finally pulled him away from the cabinet, sharply hit the surface with her hands. The mirror flew out of my hands and fell flat on the tiled floor. To my surprise, it didn't break. Moreover, the old woman was not visible.

Only now we saw how old the mirror is. From the front it was in excellent condition, but from the back it was clear that it was about forty years old, no less. To top it all off, for some reason, I couldn't pick it up. The mirror suddenly became incredibly heavy.

On the same day, I went to the company that did the repairs, with quite understandable complaints about why and where I got the old mirror from. The manager immediately called the Senior, and he, having listened to everything, sank heavily into a chair. It turned out to be simple. Only Kolya works for them, a man of about forty. He has golden hands, he does everything quickly, conscientiously, but he drinks. That's why I started playing tricks. He is given money for good materials, he buys cheap ones. The difference is not visible, but the guys noticed it a couple of times.

They called this Kolya. At first he denied that he knew nothing. I talked to him a little, gave him money, and the worker immediately told him everything. This mirror belonged to his deceased neighbor. Her son beat her up in her own home. And he hit it against this mirror. He stood in the hallway and shook his mother’s head against him. When they found her, there was blood all around. The worst thing is that the mirror didn’t even crack. Kolya took him. Washed, polished, if you don't look closely, it looks like new. And then a repair case arose where a mirror was needed.

Kolya came to our house, calmly grabbed the mirror (even though I couldn’t lift it) and we never saw him again. We walked away for several days, still not believing what had happened, and then somehow everything evened out. We ordered a mirror and hung it up. This turned out to be normal.

The funny thing is, when it came to renovating the rest of the apartment, I called the same company. They promised a hefty discount after that idiotic story. It was scary, of course, a little, but greed won in the end. I met with the same employee and agreed on what and how. He joked that Kolya wouldn’t do any repairs this time. And he said that he wouldn’t do it again.

It turned out that Kolya died. In your own apartment. He got drunk, walked along the corridor, slipped and fell with his temple on the corner of the very mirror that he himself had installed. That's how it all ended for him...

We all know very well that every self-respecting person who strives to take care of his appearance has a mirror at home, and maybe even more than one. Why, girls have mirrors in their purses. And if you walk around the city, you will definitely come across mirrors in every large and small store. What exactly are mirrors? M? Do you think about this often? Personally, as a child, I was visited by the thought that mirrors were like doors. The child's mind is brilliant in its spontaneity; it can be close to the essence of things, because it follows the path of reflection, not dogma. Imagine your home mirror. Better yet, approach him. What do you see? Most often, this is a flat object located on the wall, rectangular or oval in shape. Now look at any doorway. Do you feel the similarity? It is impossible not to feel it.

Of course, school physics lessons taught us that a mirror is an object that reflects rays of vision, so our brain artificially constructs the space BEHIND the plane of the mirror. But is this really so? And are reflections limited to the reflection of rays of sight? After all, the same school physics also talks about other rays that are invisible to ordinary vision. Well, advanced research into this science, which talks about rays that can change the fabric of reality and space-time. Now let's get back to our mirrors. We see ourselves there, but it is empirically proven that the visions in them are not subjective, and therefore true. Only the left changes to the right.

Now dive deeper into your memory. Remember the stories of the oldest members of your family, what did they tell you about mirrors? And why were the mirrors hung up or removed when these same family members died? Why did people try to predict their fate by looking into a mirror corridor made of two mirrors placed opposite each other? Maybe because the mirror doesn’t reflect everything? Especially what we can’t see with our limited vision, because it doesn’t see what we can’t touch with our hands, right?

Every day a person, one way or another, encounters mirrors. Starting his day, washing his face after sleep, a person looks in the mirror. When getting dressed for work, to university, to school, a person looks in the mirror. Coming home, a person looks in the mirror. Everyone knows that the emotional background of a team is acutely felt by people who interact with the team from the outside. What is a team? This is all together and each individually. And this one has a mirror. Each one carries some kind of charge, emotion, thought.

Without delving into psychology, I will point out that mental activity is closely connected with the emotional component. Now, friends, connect the dots. I will not touch upon the arguments of materialists that fortune telling with mirrors and the signs associated with them, the above, and, for example, a broken mirror is a sign of misfortune; They are just prejudices. Let's take the facts and witnesses, of which there are a great many.

So, the connection: people, having a certain emotional background, appear in front of mirrors, and mirrors do not reflect all rays, and can even... emit them. This means that the space behind the mirror is real to some extent. Oh yes, it cannot be felt by touch, measured, explored, moving on your own two feet... But this space exists. And it exists thanks to completely different, its own laws. In most cases, it shows us an image of our reality reflected from left to right, but the facts indicate that sometimes it shows things that clearly do not fit into our reality. Images of the future and the past, inexplicable series of failures with a broken mirror...

Speaking of failures. You don't have to be a great philosopher to understand that everything in the Universe is harmonious. Black and white. Hot and cold. South and North. East and West. The mirror reflects the latter. But everything else is reflected as it is. Having broken the mirror reality, is it possible to preserve the real reality? Especially if we feed that reality every day simply by the fact that the mirror exists and reflects objects. What if it reflects us? But even if the mirror is not broken. Look at yourself in the mirror continuously for 10 minutes. Stand and look into your eyes. What do you see? Myself? No. Someone else appears there. Sometimes on the side, sometimes on top, behind... What if this someone appears in your eyes?

Now let's remember the beginning of this story. We have mirrors in our houses. One, two, three... Mirrors on the streets. Mirrors in institutions and shops. Why, there are mirrors even in the polished steel surfaces of door handles, knives, and in computer and phone screens. If they not only reflect this reality, but are reality themselves, think about WHO and WHAT lives next to us. Right at your home. And it is reflected in your eyes. And in general, how do we know which side of the mirror we are on?

Sergey Zhnetsov worked as a programmer in our company. Until recently, he was a cheerful, cheerful 30-year-old guy, the soul of any company, the first ringleader and inventor at all parties and corporate events. Now he is a gray-haired, prematurely aged, gloomy bearded man. Those who knew him before never cease to be amazed at the metamorphoses that occurred in Sergei. “It’s necessary, how life has hit a man,” many of his acquaintances thought, following the stooped figure with their eyes. And only a few knew the reason for the changes that happened to Sergei. And this is what happened...

In one village, Sergei bought a small house as a summer cottage. And he was seduced by the fact that a wooden bathhouse was also sold along with the house. “Now I will have my own sauna,” he told his friends. “I’ll make some repairs, and I invite everyone to the bathhouse to wash off the city’s dirt and stress.” Sergei fixed the house, repaired the roof, the porch - a local craftsman cut it down with an ax so that it’s ready for an exhibition now. Although the new owner invested a lot of money in his dacha, everything turned out great. Well, there’s nothing to say about the bathhouse. What there was no billiards in the bathhouse. And this must happen - there was a mirror in a beautiful carved gilded oval frame hanging on the wall in the house, left over from the old housewife, and Sergei hung it in the bathhouse. And so he flooded his bathhouse, washed himself and steamed to his heart's content, his wife rubbed his back and walked with a broom to mutual pleasure. After the bath, the wife, wrapped in a sheet, ran into the house, and Sergei stayed to shave. Having laid out the shaving accessories on the shelf, he looked at himself in the old mirror. And this is what Sergei said later:

“I look in the mirror and see an old woman in it, and this old woman looks at me, her mouth is open, only two teeth are visible, but she doesn’t say anything, but in my head I have her voice, and this voice hisses like a snake:

- Put the mirror back in its place, you damned one! I will destroy you, hero!..

And I see that her hands are reaching out to me and grabbed me by the throat, and then I don’t remember anything. Later my wife told me that she heard screams from the bathhouse, ran there and saw me rolling on the floor, and my hands were squeezing my throat. In short, if my wife had not arrived in time, I would have strangled myself, I was already blue...

The news that the mirror almost killed the new owner of the house quickly spread throughout the village. And the old-timers began to remember that in the 30s of the last century there was a prosperous large family in the village. When they came to dispossess the family, it ended in bloodshed, the security officers slaughtered everyone, only the grandmother remained. So this grandmother cursed everyone in front of the mirror and set her house on fire. The house burned down, and the grandmother along with the house, but the mirror miraculously remained intact. And over time, this mirror and what was once reflected in it went to Sergei.

It took a long time for Sergei to come to his senses after such a bath. For several years he was afraid to look in the mirror and could not look at the monitor screen. Thanks to the help of kind people, he somehow returned to life, but how is another story.
