Devil - XV Major Arcana

In the astrological aspect, the Devil is protected by the planet Pluto. The planet itself is very mysterious, since scientists discovered it relatively recently. It influences masses of people. Pluto symbolizes one of the most complex processes in the world - transmutation. He is responsible for destruction and punishment, rebirth and transformation, as well as for the greatest sacrament - birth and death. Esotericists attribute all the darkest things in a person to the influence of Pluto.

Alternative names for the Arcana Devil: Fatum, Dark Side, Doom, Dark Forces.

Description of the Arcana

In the center of the Arcana, the Devil sits with the air of a ruler. He settled on a huge cube, to which people were chained - a man and a woman. People are depicted in a suffering but calm pose. This is not surprising: there is something to suffer because of - after all, their freedom is limited by massive chains, they depend on the will of the Devil, from whom they are prevented from leaving by hated fetters.

But is it? Maybe people have created the illusion of dependence? Maybe they just lost the will to resist? Maybe people just accepted their fate and began to enjoy their condition? Such questions are not accidental, because the chains on people are free, they can leave them on their own at any moment, but they do not do this. We can conclude that their addiction is entirely their own choice. This is one of the leitmotifs of the Arcana.

There is no doubt that it is the Devil who is depicted on the Arcana. Here are all his attributes that religion endowed the Prince of Darkness with - horns, wings, tail and an inverted pentagram.

In the Tarot of the Age of Aquarius, the Arcana has a slightly different image. The proud and majestic Devil is still present on the map, but here he towers over the tied people, confidently standing on the ground. The wings cover him like a cloak. People are tied to it not with chains, but with ropes, which are also in a free state. The Prince of Darkness holds in his hands a huge ball, which symbolizes the material world that he has conquered.

In some decks, the sacred meaning of the Arcana is revealed by the attribute of the Devil - Fire. It would seem that this is a direct indication of hellfire, but there are no other images of hell on the map; the physical world is more reflected here. The presence of fire in the physical world only confirms that the law of cause and effect operates here and now. For retribution there is no need to wait for the mythical Supreme Court. He is here on earth, and hellish fire will burn everyone who commits the corresponding act.

The suffering that a person experiences is the fire that the Devil holds in his hands. It is through these sufferings that he binds people to the material world.

The sacred meaning of the Devil

The wisdom and deep sacred meaning of the XV Arcana can and should be considered in two aspects. The first aspect is, in fact, the central figure of the Arcana itself - the Devil. In it one can see both the Prince of Darkness himself and his entire demonic hierarchy.

In the light of this aspect, Arcan points to the temptation that a person constantly has to overcome in order to go through his path of self-improvement and return to the bosom of Divine grace. God sent people from Paradise, giving them the opportunity to atone for their grave sin, and allowed the Devil to place obstacles, for only by fighting temptation does the Spirit come to perfection. In some decks, the demonic hierarchy is symbolized by an inverted pentagram in the forehead of the Devil.

A person has a choice before any temptation, and in the Arcana this is very clearly indicated - although people are tied, the threads connecting them (or chains in some decks) are not stretched and do not hold the person tightly. Any of them can easily escape their bonds. In fact, this Arcanum can become fatal for an inert person, but in rare cases it symbolizes fate (fatum) as such, because when there is a choice, fatality recedes.

An interesting fact is that if a person manages to resist temptation by combining his rationality with spirituality, then the destructive force becomes his assistant on the path of self-improvement. In fact, it is one of the mechanisms that raises it.

An example of such “cooperation” is the legend about the construction of the temple by Solomon. Thanks to his brilliant assistant Chiron, who managed to create a unique architecture and build the structure in a very short time, Solomon's Temple became an example of the greatest craftsmanship. Solomon decided to find out how a simple architect managed to create such a structure, unsurpassed in its beauty. He called Chiron to him, and he said that the design and construction of the temple was carried out by demons.

The second aspect of the Arcana is the dark side of the person’s personality. It is always present, but can be in a manifested or unmanifested state. Based on this, a person can never be absolutely good or absolutely bad. He reveals each of his sides in accordance with the events taking place and his own attitude towards his experiences.

It must be said that the dark world, symbolized by the Devil, consists not only of entities of the demonic hierarchy, acting strictly within the framework of the law of cause-and-effect relationships as accusers and tempters, but also of entities produced by the malicious arbitrariness of man. The soul of these created beings is the immoderation and passion of man, and their subtle body becomes the totality of vibrations derived from this passion.

Man not only gives birth to these entities, but also endows them with power, which subsequently enslaves the consciousness of the person himself. On the Arcana this is depicted as the figure of the Devil dominating people.

In some decks, the Devil has horns, which indicates his animal nature, but not as an animal in the physical sense, but as an instinctiveness that gives rise to passion and intemperance. Human images on these Arcana also have the same horns. They mean the same thing, but only with a less intense character. In such decks, a man and a woman are also depicted with tails, but while the male tail is engulfed in the flames of anger, the female one ends with a bunch of grapes, which indicates dependence on wealth and voluptuousness.

The Devil has wings that symbolize independence - he can break loose and fly away at any moment. The ball in the Devil’s hand suggests that it is impossible to hide from the devil’s temptation anywhere: the whole planet is in his hands.

There are decks where the Devil is depicted sitting on a cube, which represents the material world. Chains are attached to it, tying a person to this material world. Their nature can be completely different - material well-being, emotional attachments, love relationships, illnesses, fanatical ideas.

In some decks, the Devil holds a torch in his hands, pointing down at people. It symbolizes the presence of devilish (hellish) fire already in the physical world, which people feel through their suffering.

Mythological correspondence of the Devil

In mythology, the Devil can also be considered in two aspects. The first of them takes us into the biblical stories about Lucifer, Satan and the demons who joined him. The most beautiful and wise Angel, in his zeal for the greatness of God, was cast into the abyss, dragging his like-minded people with him.

The second myth that reveals the essence of the Arcanum is the myth of Hercules and his 12 labors, which consisted of fighting monsters personifying evil.

The meaning of the direct Devil in the layout

As a rule, the appearance of the direct XV Arcana in the layout indicates the presence of dependence. Since the Devil manifests itself in all spheres of human life, addiction can be of a different nature; it can come both from the qualities of the person himself and from the people and circumstances around him. The nature of the dependence is determined either by the main issue in the layout, or by the Arcana surrounding the Devil.

The Devil usually “colors” the Arcana located nearby. Even in a positive card it can bring a dark characteristic. For example, next to the III Arcanum (Empress) or the IV Arcanum (Emperor), he will show an exorbitant thirst for power or material wealth. Next to the XIV Arcanum (Moderation), even if it is in an upright position, the Devil shows that the person has lost his temper after a period of abstinence and “got into all kinds of bad things.”

Next to the Devil, Arcanum V (Hierophant, Pope) turns into hypocrisy, and Arcanum VIII (Justice) turns into corruption schemes. If there are picture cards (Ladies and Kings) around the Devil, then the Arcanum will tell about the presence in a person’s life of people who cause manifestations of his negative qualities or who have such qualities themselves.

It is a mistake to believe that the appearance of the Devil in the general scenario always indicates corruption. Such a negative point can be said with certainty only in the case when the Second Arcanum (High Priestess) is present in the layout at the same time as the Devil. Here we can certainly talk about some kind of negative magical effect on a person, and this can be as damage in its pure form, or as various kinds of love spells, or as rituals performed to worsen the financial situation.

Arkan most often speaks about negative things or about excessive manifestations of even good qualities that lead a person into a state of dependence. But this is not always the case. In some cases, the Devil is a warning that a person may face a sticky situation. Moreover, it is not necessary that such a situation will result in trouble for a person. Arkan warns that you need to use cunning to get out of this situation gracefully.

The surrounding cards in this case will show how the situation will end or will indicate the aspect in which a person should turn to his resourcefulness. This is precisely the moment of temptation that is present in the sense of the Arcanum. Very often you need to go into temptation in order to cope with it later, and not avoid it.

The Direct Devil very often speaks about the unreliability of the information received, or about the impossibility of verifying it. Arkan also talks about fanaticism.

The meaning of the inverted Devil in the layout

The inverted Devil, just like the upright one, speaks of dependence, but in this case the emphasis should be placed on the fact that this situation is almost hopeless. It is in this position that the Arcanum is fatal and can be called Rock.

We can say that a person had the opportunity to find a way out of the current situation, but he did not take advantage of it, ignored the signs that Fate gave him, and, driven by his passions, slipped deeper and deeper into the negativism of the situation. As a rule, in this case we can say that the person made hasty and ill-considered decisions.

When the inverted Devil appears in a reading, we can say with confidence that a person is faced with a subtly thought-out and well-executed deception, the sophistication of some people. It can also mean he is in a state of deception or subterfuge. The surrounding Arcana will show those areas of human life in which deception occurs. But very often one lie leads to another, forcing a person to remain in a carousel of lies.

An inverted Arcanum always speaks of extreme intemperance and destructive passion, and sometimes this can reach the point of perversion, when a fanatic begins to realize all his obsessive desires.

In combination with other Arcana, as well as in an upright position, an inverted Arcana causes a negative coloring to all surrounding cards. But if in the case of the direct Devil we are talking only about the qualities of a person, which he may not use, then in the case of the inverted Devil we can already talk about deeds. Thus, an inverted Arcanum aggravates negativism and deprives a person of the opportunity to resist temptations.

In this case, we can talk about the fatality of certain human traits that determine his current position in life. This is precisely what makes the situation hopeless, because a person is guided by threshold qualities that have already become complexes.

Like the direct Arcanum, the inverted Devil speaks of temptation, but in this case a person is deprived of the opportunity to avoid this temptation due to “inner blindness” and because of the fatality of the situation itself. Circumstances leave a person no choice, nor do his complexes.

Direction of self-development

The devil personifies human ignorance, delusion, dependence on internal desires, which manifest themselves in life as all sorts of negative qualities. For example, fear, anxiety, confusion, despondency, sadness, anger. It can also be a moral disorder, irritation or excessive self-importance.

All these qualities are a sign for a person that he is dominated by his own complexes. They lead a person to mental anguish, and this can be caused by any events in life.

To take the path of self-development, a person needs to realize that he is chained to the material world, tied to it through his complexes and desires. These bindings are artificial and you can get rid of them, because on the Arcana the connecting threads are not tense, but are in a free position. A person can independently remove these shackles, and the Devil will not even interfere with this. He retreats before the man's determination.

If a person manages to realize his position and the reasons for being in it, to combine the rationality of the mind and the spiritual component, he can not only break out from under the trap set by the Devil, but also subjugate this powerful force.

This allows you to free yourself from even the most severe addiction, for example, alcoholism or drug addiction. Moreover, the Devil, through self-awareness, says that a person currently has such an opportunity.

The inverted Arcanum suggests that at the moment “the chains are tightened,” but it was the man himself who tightened them. The reason for this is the confusion of a person who, perhaps, understands his destructive addiction, but does not look for spiritual strength and the will to correct the situation.

In this situation, the saddest thing is that a person begins to enjoy this dependence and does not even try to get out of it; moreover, he looks for all sorts of reasons to remain in this situation and rarely accepts help from the outside. Only some significant event in his life can bring a person out of such a state, and it must necessarily bring him pain.

If a person overcomes his addiction and fights temptation, then he returns to the XIV Arcanum (Moderation) and can begin his path again, and if he does not overcome it, then the XVI Arcanum (Tower) awaits him ahead, which predicts complete destruction for him as retribution.

To overcome the inverted Devil, a person must first try to put him in an upright position, realizing that he is actually at the bottom, from which he can always push off. It is necessary to neglect the fatality of this Arcanum - to give up pleasures.

Job

We can say that work is the only area where the Devil points more to positive factors. The main point in the interpretation of this Arcana in a work scenario is that this card is a warning one.

It warns both about the possibility of making a good profit, and about the circumstances under which this profit will be received. With this card, you need to pay attention to the surrounding cards more than ever. It is the neighboring Arcana that will show the consequences that the resulting profit will bring, and they may not always be positive.

In any case, the devil shows that when doing business there is always guile or cunning. This is not deception in its purest form, just the presence of some hidden points. In this case, the Devil is in the little things that others simply won’t pay attention to.

Very often, the Devil card indicates that in his business life a person is being tested in his moral principles. As an example - a bribe, a kickback. The Devil can also talk about illegal business, weapons, drugs, and about breaking the law when doing business - concealing income, building corruption schemes, illegal operations.

In financial terms, the Devil always talks about receiving benefits, but also always warns that it is associated with a certain risk. If a person is not clever, cunning or decisive enough, he should not get involved in the games of the Devil. What is important here is only a sober mind, ultra-precise calculation and logic, inner strength and confidence, and fearlessness. Only with such qualities can a person receive maximum benefits and avoid all risks.

It is important to say that success will only come to the person who is prepared for loss in advance. This frees him from emotional dependence and illusions, allowing reason and inner strength to take over.

If a person does not run his own business, but works in some company, the Devil shows an opportunity to make money, and this, as a rule, does not affect the entire team, and sometimes even to their detriment. This is not a bonus, but a profit.

Again, we need to emphasize that when planning for work, it is very important to look at the surrounding Arcana. If there are figure cards (Kings and Queens), we can say that a person will, against his will, be involved in some kind of financial transaction bordering on fraud. In this case, the card gives a direct warning about increased attention and composure in order to avoid such a situation.

An inverted Arcana literally indicates financial fraud. This could be dishonest earnings, theft, deception. This may manifest itself in violation of contractual obligations, making profit by not paying other people.

This is always a dishonest business that involves serious risks. As a rule, a large number of people are involved in such a business. These are actually illegal business schemes. With such a card, it is possible to receive money at the expense of others. The presence of an inverted Devil indicates that a person may be put at risk in some kind of financial transaction.

If next to the inverted Devil lies the direct XI Arcanum (Strength) or the direct IV Arcanum (Emperor), we can talk about blackmail, threats, or a crime in the financial sphere.

For a person working in a team, this is definitely meanness and a setup. The surrounding cards will show from which side this negativity can be expected. But it is worth considering that the inverted Devil indicates that the person himself led himself to such circumstances, he himself allowed himself to be fooled.

Personal relationships

In layouts for personal relationships, this card is very difficult in any aspect, except that it can show a civil marriage. The devil in a relationship shows the dependence of partners on each other. Moreover, this dependence can be different. It can be caused by feelings when a person is unable to end a relationship, even if it hurts him.

Dependence between partners can be financial in nature, when a person is ready to violate ethical standards, endure inconvenience or overcome pain for the sake of material benefits that the union provides.

Very often the Devil in relationships shows dependence due to his own complexes. For example, a person cannot leave a relationship for fear of being alone.

If the card falls on one of the partners, then we can assume that this person is subject to some kind of vices - deceit, non-fidelity, financial insolvency. However, at the same time, the person is so resourceful and cunning that he forces his partner to accept his negative qualities as advantages. He can manipulate with the help of undisguised flattery, beautiful communication, and sophistication in sex. If we are not talking about a married couple, then there may be a promising flirtation that is a bait.

For a lonely person, the Devil means the presence of some kind of complex that prevents the preservation of relationships. This can be either low or high self-esteem. In fact, this person is not alone; there may be quite a lot of people around him who want a relationship with him, but he is dissatisfied with them. There may be a frequent change of partners, but at the same time it is impossible to create a truly serious and long-term relationship with any of them.

An inverted Arcana in a relationship says that this union is dependent, but there is always fear here. In such relationships, aggression, mockery (gross or subtle), sexual perversion on the one hand and silent submission on the other quite often appear.

If this card falls on one of the members of the union, then this person is the aggressor in the union. When the Two of Cups or the II Arcanum (High Priestess) appears in the layout, then we can talk about numerous betrayals, and if the Three of Cups, then we can talk about rampant drunkenness or even alcoholism.

For a lonely person, an inverted Arcanum promises the impossibility of creating a normal family, since all his relationships are built on extreme aggression. In this case, a family is only possible with a weak-willed and pliable person.

Personality characteristics

To characterize the qualities of a person under the influence of the XV Arcanum, one must remember that the Arcanum itself speaks of excesses and immoderation, but does not characterize the personality as a whole. To understand what kind of this immoderation, in order to describe the main character traits of a person that influence his behavior, we need another card of the Major Arcana.

With Arcanum I (Magician), the Devil will point out the cunning and resourcefulness of a person. With II Arcanum (High Priestess) he will show fanaticism or an unhealthy passion for occult trends. Here we can also talk about a tendency to secret relationships, betrayal and the creation of secret alliances.

With the III Arcanum (Empress), the Devil will talk about a person’s jealousy and hysteria, his demandingness and capriciousness. With the IV Arcanum (Emperor), on the one hand, the Devil shows greed, pedantry, and stinginess. On the other hand, it indicates a thirst for power and excessive domineering qualities.

With the V Arcanum (Pope, Hierophant), the card will show hypocrisy, deceit, reliance on one’s knowledge, the desire to rise above a person, fanaticism, including religious. This man actually knows a lot, but he boasts about it everywhere. With the VI Arcanum (Lovers), the Devil creates increased sexuality and promiscuous relationships. With this combination, we can say that he is a bad family man. And most often he prefers a bachelor life to stable family relationships. For women, this combination may indicate prostitution as a profession.

In combination with the VII Arcanum (Chariot), the Devil indicates a person’s bravura. Such a person constantly pretends to be something that he really is not. With Arcana VIII (Justice), the card will show a tendency towards fraud, illegal actions, dishonesty in relation to people, and crime. The card can also indicate hatred and envy.

With Arcanum IX (Hermit), Arcanum XV indicates extremes in one’s spiritual and physical development. Such a person can be very obsessive in his point of view; he does not want to listen to opposing arguments and is always confident that he is right. With the X Arcanum (Wheel of Fortune) we can say that a person is inclined to go to extremes: either immensely happy or deeply unhappy. He is very lax and undisciplined. Such people are quite often prone to manic or depressive states.

With Arcanum XI (Strength), the Devil will show unreasonable aggression in all its manifestations, the unreasonable use of force. With the XII Arcana (The Hanged Man), the card will show a person in the image of endless sacrifice. Moreover, this sacrifice can be both natural and ostentatious. Most often, this person makes himself a victim, blaming everyone and everything for his problems.

In combination with Arcanum XIII (Death), the Devil shows the presence of an uncontrollable desire for change in everything, constant transformation. Such a person not only changes everything in his life, but also imposes changes on those around him. The XIV Arcana (Moderation) lying nearby indicates excesses of the physical plane - excess in eating, drinking, gambling addiction, mania, fanatical devotion to some activity.

Arcanum XVI (Tower) next to the Devil shows a pathological desire to destroy everything, and this manifests itself at any level. Essentially, this is a human terminator. With the XVII Arcanum (Star), the Devil indicates irrepressible imagination, building castles in the air, and remaining in illusion. This man talks more than he does. He rarely goes beyond his dreams, and does not even try to realize them.

With the XVIII Arcanum (Moon), the Devil indicates mental imbalance, even mental illness. Such a person is very often overcome by various phobias and manias. Arcanum IXX (Sun) under the Devil will show an incorrigible optimist who refuses to see negative aspects. For such a person, any failures always happen painfully, since he never foresees them.

In combination with the XX Arcanum (Judgment), the card shows an extremely unpredictable person who can promise one thing but do another. Such unpredictability harms him, first of all, since he is unpredictable even for himself. He can change his plans, putting his own interests first. Arcanum XI (Peace) says that here the Devil forces a person to achieve his inner peace at any cost, without paying attention to the ethics of the methods. We can say about such a person that for the sake of his peace of mind he will walk over corpses.

The inverted Devil, with all these Arcana, only strengthens all the negative qualities of a person, elevating them to the rank of perversion.

Health

Health is a fairly common question for the Tarot deck. You need to watch it depending on the depth of the question itself. There are simple and complex layouts. With a simple calculation you can simply find out the general condition of the body. To do this, you need to pull out one major Arcana from the deck, upside down or upright.

The layout, which will show the state of some organ and the processes occurring in it, is made on 2 cards. The first card shows the organ itself, its current state, and the second will indicate its functionality.

A complex layout helps to fully diagnose the body. It is done only by the Major Arcana. Cards are laid out for each chakra. You need to start from the bottom - Muladhara. When laying out cards, you need to focus on exactly the chakra for which the Arcanum is pulled out. The layout is read in combination: first, each card is looked at separately, and then refined by combinations with neighboring cards. This combination will help to more accurately identify problems.

General state

When viewing the layout for the general condition, the Arcanum Devil indicates the presence of dependence, both in the upright and inverted positions. In addition, this card may indicate a hormonal imbalance or the use of strong painkillers.

If, when viewing the general state, the Devil appears, then this alignment necessarily requires decoding with additional Arcana. Actually, you need to understand more precisely why the chakra alignment would be the best option.

Ongoing processes

Layout for two Arcana with the participation of the Devil. If the Devil falls in the first position upright or inverted, then we can talk about the organ that is responsible for hormonal levels - the thyroid gland, pancreas, female and male genital organs.

In the second position is the fallen Devil about the excessive work of the organ. For example, if we are talking about the heart, then we can assume tachycardia. With the Devil, the lungs will give out rapid breathing, and the liver will increase in size. This is both literal and inverted.

Chakra diagnostics

The devil on one of the chakras will show dysfunction, and this is usually hyperfunction. In some cases, he may say that the organ may require the use of strong painkillers. If the chakras adjacent to the Devil have Arcana such as XVI (Tower), XII (Hanged Man) or XIII (Death), then we can assume the use of anesthesia or narcotic drugs during surgery.

Muladhara. Upright and inverted Devil on this chakra shows hormonal release from the genital organs. Inverted only shows the threshold processes of such a failure.

Svadhisthana. In women, the Devil will show ovarian hyperfunction, menstrual cycle failure, and endometrial problems. In men, it can show hyperfunction of the prostate gland. It is imperative to pay attention to the neighboring chakras; if one of the above Arcana falls there, then we can talk about a critical condition of the prostate gland, which will require the use of narcotic drugs. It is especially important to pay attention to this when the Devil is inverted.

Manipura. On this chakra, for both women and men, the Arcanum will show a hormonal disorder of the pancreas with an increase in its function. A stronger deviation will be shown by an inverted Devil.

Anahata. The devil on this chakra will show stomach problems that arise due to high acidity.

Vishuddha. On Vishuddha, the Devil talks about hyperfunction of the thyroid gland. The neighboring Arcana listed above may show the need for surgical intervention in the formation of nodes and enlargement of the gland itself.

Ajna. The devil on this chakra no longer indicates physical illness in its pure form, but the physical manifestations of mental disorders - drug addiction, alcoholism, substance abuse, gluttony.

Sahasrara. This chakra never gives a picture of the physical state of the body. It is more indicative of the human psyche. With the Devil on this chakra, one can talk about aggression, hysteria, perverted inclinations, negative character traits that are destructive for the person himself.

Layout for the situation

In situational scenarios, the Devil shows the trials ahead for a person, which must be passed consciously. If the situation is related to finances, this is always a favorable outcome if the person is very careful and shows some resourcefulness.

If there are figure cards (Queens or Kings) near the Devil, then you should expect manifestations of envy, hatred, rage and unfavorable actions from your environment. The gender of the person you should be wary of in this case will be indicated by the picture.

Another characteristic of the situation in a scenario with the Devil may indicate the presence of a negative moment if the corresponding Major Arcana are present: II Arcanum (High Priestess) will talk about damage, and XII Arcanum (Hanged Man) will talk about a love spell or binding. In any case, these cards speak of detrimental external influences for a person.

In some cases, if this does not concern the financial sphere, then the situation characterized by the Devil is associated with deception.

The devil indicates that a person has an obsession with acquiring some expensive thing, and this obsession makes him dependent on the coveted thing. The purchase will be made, but the person will use all sorts of methods for this, and not always legal ones. You should be wary of deception and fraud.

To determine what is happening at the everyday level, you need to look at the neighboring Arcana. The presence of Cups will show a showdown, stormy communication or excessive libations, for example, alcoholism and heavy parties. Pentacles will indicate the solution of financial issues - purchases that a person has been planning for a long time, some transactions accompanied by cunning and resourcefulness.

Wands (Staves) will show communication with unpleasant people, which can lead to negative consequences. Swords will indicate the very negative consequences that a person will have to face.

The difference between an inverted Devil and an upright one is that an inverted card aggravates the intensity of the situation. In a financial situation, an inverted Arcanum also means profit, as well as a direct one, but in this case the profit will be obtained illegally and there is always a risk of facing exposure and retribution for illegal actions. The likelihood of getting into trouble increases especially if the XIII Arcanum (Justice) and XVI Arcanum (Tower) are located nearby in any position.

If the upright Devil speaks of a small deception, more similar to hiding the truth and cunning, then the inverted one will speak of deception involving meanness. If there are cards of Swords nearby - Five, Seven, Eight, then you can speak with complete confidence about meanness and the desire to substitute. With such cards, theft, slander, and false testimony are also possible.

The inverted Devil speaks of severe physical dependence, which is almost impossible to overcome without specialized treatment. For example, persistent forms of drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling addiction, substance abuse.

At the everyday level, the card indicates immoral behavior, communication with law enforcement agencies due to aggressiveness, endless sprees and drunken orgies, especially if the Three of Cups is in the scenario.

Card of the day

When the Devil appears as a card of the day, it can be viewed in several aspects. Firstly, this card is of a warning nature and forces you to be careful in any activities planned for this day. It is very important to make a thorough analysis of any offers that will be received on this day, since outwardly they will certainly be tempting.

At the same time, you need to carefully evaluate the behavior of the people from whom these proposals will come, your internal state and the behavior caused by it. You need to clearly see not only that there is a risk, but also determine for yourself its degree.

In fact, on this day you can live under the motto: “He who does not take risks, does not drink champagne,” but we must remember that champagne can only be drunk if the risk is fully foreseen. Determination and sober calculation will do their job.

Secondly, Arkan necessarily considers it from another aspect - the emotional one. On this day there may be a surge of negativism in a person; he may be too irritated, offended, aggressive, angry. The main thing is not to be led by your emotions, you just need to try to move everything to the next day, because such emotions can destroy everything that was previously planned. Not the best day to make a decision, as emotions can cause a lot of damage in the future.

On this day, it is better to refrain from romantic dates and acquaintances, since such relationships will be associated with deception and meanness. Moreover, the date itself may not take place due to lies and empty promises from the partner.

The inverted Devil warns that on this day you need to be extremely attentive and careful, since addiction in its worst form can manifest itself here, causing the person the most serious troubles.

In case of any action, this card can indicate that on this day a person can expect meanness from someone, be it close and familiar people, or completely unknown. You need to be not only attentive, but also very suspicious. When leaving your home on this day, it is important to make sure it is safe, since on this day there is a high probability of theft.

You shouldn’t start new things on this day, you shouldn’t agree to any trips or events if there is even the slightest doubt in your soul.

Card of the Year

The devil on the year card has a dual meaning. First of all, he says that the year will be full of rapidly changing events. They can be considered successful, but with one caveat: they will only become so if they are extremely careful and vigilant. Moreover, one must not lose vigilance even for a minute, because one failure can destroy even a skillfully built house of cards.

It should be remembered that the next Arcana in the deck is the destroyed Tower, and in this regard, any mistake can lead to destruction.

The second point is related to the internal state of a person. This is the year in which a person must revise his “skeletons in the closet” so that the next year does not turn into a living hell. This year, a person may be plagued by various internal complexes: he may be under the power of jealousy, envy, and resentment. Only an in-depth analysis of the reasons will help him avoid danger.

This year, a person can build his life, understanding that all his relationships will be tied to material interests. This can serve as an additional source of his emotional outbursts, and the emotions will be negative.

An inverted Arcana indicates that the year will be very difficult psychologically. Some may even need the advice of a specialist - a psychologist, psychiatrist or even a narcologist. A person has a huge chance of becoming dependent on something or someone, and it will no longer be possible to get rid of it on his own.

As for events, it is important to understand that the year will be marked by deceptions and vile deeds. You need to be careful in choosing business partners and friends.

Arcana Council

Arkan gives advice to realize that at the moment a person is in a state of physical, psychological or ideological dependence. The Devil card says that it is necessary to understand: man himself is the source of his own suffering, for the Devil is in him. This inner Devil forces a person to manifest his dark essence.

All pain and all suffering are the result of his ambition, which reached the point of mania, intemperance and exorbitant desires. The card shows how easily you can free yourself from this suffering by accepting yourself and taking responsibility. A person must learn to look for reasons within himself, without blaming others for his problems. To solve the problem, you can contact a specialist or confessor.

Having recognized the reason for everything that happens in life, a person can easily and simply refuse to follow an already established path that has led him to an undesirable state. You must always remember that everything is only in the hands of the person himself.

XV Arcana Devil in TarotThe map is extremely contradictory. For some, the 15th lasso causes fear and horror, while others idolize it. There are many myths and fairy tales that fly around this map. But talk is talk, but what does this lasso actually carry? Find out in this article.

When did it start?

Pan in all his glory

The name of the card provokes thought, causing a storm of emotions. This is where the archetype of the Devil card begins, which has its roots in the ancient mysteries dedicated to the gods Dionysus and Pan.

Pan appears in the form of a satyr, half-man, half-goat. The personification of the deep connection between man and nature.

No matter how much we try to be smart and rational, there is always an animal nature in us.

Why is there no happiness?

For many centuries, man has been trying to suppress the animal part of himself, to replace instincts with rationalism. This is how the idea of sin and vice was created, when the natural instincts and needs of a person are presented in the image of something bad, dark and dangerous.

The result is obvious, today we have little idea of who we are, what we can do, what we really are. In search of an answer, we frantically run to social patterns from the series: how it is right, how it should be, how it should be. And as a result, we completely lose touch with ourselves. We forget simple joys, forget how to enjoy life and fall into depression.

We have reached the point where we trust the TV, a box with wires, rather than ourselves

Breakthrough 15 arcana

Hippie - breakthrough of the XV arcana in the 20th century

The attempt to become oneself burst through with the violent flourishing of the hippie movement in the 60s. Breaking all social restrictions, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Flower children embodied the archetype of Dionysus, the god of fertility, inspiration and ecstasy.

Pleasure, ecstasy, boundless pleasure are the main symbols of the 15th lasso of the Devil. In this map there is no division of life into black and white, good and evil. Here is the enjoyment of life, in all its colors. The card says: everything is holy, both heaven and earth, and wars, and love. All together this represents a unique pattern of existence.

The main symbol of the arcana

Arcana Devil in Tarotpersonifies the duality of all things. From the word dia (duality) comes the Devil (or Devil). If we wipe away the dust of medieval obscurantism and prejudice from this concept, we will see that the Devil personifies both duality and the endless unity of existence.

Nature can be creative and destructive, day is followed by night, where there is good, evil is always born, and reason is part of the instincts. But duality is an illusion. One has only to rise above duality and we will see that everything in the universe is one, connected with each other.

When is the Devil dangerous?

In practice, the Devil lasso shows pleasure, pleasure, attraction. Ecstasy and happiness of the material world. But we are afraid to just rejoice, just be happy. The idea has been drilled into us that there is no such thing as too much happiness, and that you have to pay for everything good. With this approach, the Devil lasso can really become a disaster for many.

He opens the way only to the strong

15 lasso Devilis a symbol of earthly love and attraction. This card will give you everything you want. But not general wishes like I want to get married, but exactly what you really want, what does your Self want? Your nature.

The sacred symbol of the Devil card is the top of a mountain, where the whole world is at your fingertips. But to rise to this peak, you need to overcome a lot, both the boulders of social opinion and the abysses of despair when it seems that there is no more strength. The lasso opens the way only to the strong, to those who have something to say. For the remaining 15, the lasso will remain a card of vices, dangers and prohibitions.

P.S.

The Devil card encourages you to live in freedom. Throw away all the stereotypes, false beliefs from the series that this washing powder is better than another, because they said so on TV. There is no talk here of immoral behavior, anarchy from the series: I do what I want. Is notvalue 15 lasso. This is nonsense. And the Devil card is life in harmony with yourself, accepting yourself as you are, this is simple happiness from every minute you live.

Main meaning of the card

Straight position

This Arcanum is related to everything that is traditionally associated in a person with the concept of sin. Greed, intemperance, uncontrollability of rude instincts - all this is under the “jurisdiction” of the Devil. This card is also interpreted as a dead end situation that has developed either for subjective reasons (personal susceptibility to passions) or for objective reasons (human dishonesty, optionality, or some circumstances “against”).

And, of course, the Devil is sexuality, but sexuality is vicious, tending toward perversion, or simply irresistible.

Some clarifications in the interpretation of the Arcana can be brought by the cards located next to it. For example, the Devil with the Jester means exposure to alcohol or drugs, with the Hierophant - subordination to bad authorities (sects, informal associations of a negative kind), with the Wheel of Fortune - a huge craving for gambling.

Inverted position

The inverted Devil does not change its negative connotation, but demonstrates slightly different shadow sides of human nature - weak or broken will, failure of plans, serious illness, fear of the unconscious. Pay attention to some combinations with the Devil in an inverted form, namely: with Strength (submission to brute force, powerlessness before it), with the Priestess (fear of witchcraft), with the Moon (insanity or even insanity). In the case of an inverted Arcanum, the passions raging in a person’s soul may not be as strong as with its upright position. However, this is a controversial issue. For the resentment due to our own powerlessness, the thirst for revenge on the one who put us in a dead end or shameful situation, can be very great.

Love and relationships

Straight position

For the personal sphere, the Devil symbolizes a vicious relationship, a union based solely on sexual attraction, fascination with a person who is completely unworthy of it. And also - a marriage of convenience, when behind words of love and promises of fidelity there is a desire to acquire material wealth, and perhaps throw their owner out of his life as unnecessary. Very traditional in this regard is the combination of the Devil and Lovers (this combination means a relationship in which we are talking only about sexual attraction without a drop of romantic and bright feelings).

Inverted position

The inverted Devil for such layouts denotes a relationship based on the weakness of one partner and the strength of the second. That is, one of them demonstrates despotism, sophisticated mockery towards the other, or blackmails him with his own weaknesses (“I can’t live without you,” “I won’t survive,” “you’ll find out then,” etc.) The second at the same time turns out to be a victim, involuntary or voluntary, and endures, agrees, submits... And it is the inverted Devil that best describes the situation when one person achieved another with the help of a love plot (especially in combination with a Magician).

Pay attention also to the combination “inverted Devil - Chariot”; it says that the union of people is far from equal and in it one person openly pushes the other around.

Career

Straight position

This Arcana for a career indicates corrupt actions, intrigue, and illegal transactions (naturally, including in combination with Justice). In addition, the Devil testifies to a tempting offer, which, if accepted, will force a person to commit illegal or immoral acts. And one more thing: The Devil in Combination with the Empress means shadow sources of income, with the Emperor - participation in a certain structure, well thought out and organized, but engaged in some prohibited operations (for example, in a mafia group).

Inverted position

In an inverted position, the Devil is powerlessness against intrigue and “snooping”, the lack of the right to vote in the team. This is a despotic boss or serious problems with supervisory authorities. The combination of the inverted Devil with the Hanged Man suggests that it will not be possible to get out of the current vicious circle very soon, and with Death - that non-resistance to other people's vice and evil will lead to the most destructive consequences.

Don't be afraid to shine a light on what seems dark and unknown. It is necessary to fight evil, because the situation has not always gone as far as it seems. Of course, we ourselves often commit actions that are not at all disrespectful. But let this become a reason not to cry over your own imperfections, but an impetus to take the path of self-improvement even more firmly.

The Devil Tarot card is one of the most controversial. This is also the personification of the dark side of man: abuse of power, dependence on money and carnal pleasures, thirst for profit. But sometimes the card also symbolizes something favorable, depending on the layout. Let's talk about the meaning in detail.

Combination with other cards

The meaning of the Devil may change if it appears in the layout with other arcana:

  1. Jester - you are heavily dependent on bad habits
  2. Magician - a person is influenced by black magic, his Fate is connected with the souls of deceased relatives
  3. High Priestess - damage or evil eye has been cast on you
  4. Empress - you will become victims of financial fraud
  5. Emperor - you will find yourself involved in unseemly affairs, which will result in problems with the law
  6. Hierophant - a person whose opinion you trust gives false information
  7. Lovers - you and your partner are connected only by sexual desire, you are not destined for each other
  8. Chariot - you will experience moral or physical violence. Often talks about relationships with a tyrant
  9. Strength - conquer bad habits
  10. Hermit - you feel lonely, but you have driven yourself into this state
  11. Wheel of Fortune - alcohol addiction
  12. Justice - problems with the law
  13. Hanged - an innocent person will suffer as a result of your actions
  14. Death - the work started will end in complete failure
  15. Moderation - under the influence of alcohol, do something that will lead to big troubles
  16. Tower - you will be drawn into financial fraud
  17. Star - hope for the best will disappear
  18. Moon - loss of materially valuable things
  19. Sun - an old secret will be revealed, because of which your reputation will suffer
  20. Court - a loved one will not help in a difficult situation
  21. Peace is an indulgence, liberation from past sins

The Devil card changes its interpretation when paired with wands:

  • Ace - you are in a subordinate, dependent position
  • 2 - the presence of ill-wishers, enemies
  • 3 - a series of minor troubles is coming
  • 4 - discord and conflicts in the family
  • 5 - will be subjected to physical violence
  • 6 - a loved one lies
  • 7 - stop abusing your power
  • 8 - rape
  • 9 - you are surrounded by insincere people
  • 10 - power spoils you

  • Knight - lacks a sense of duty and responsibility
  • The Queen is a symbol of despondency and depression
  • The king is a thirst for money that clouds reason

In terms of money

In a monetary scenario, the “devilish” card indicates the state of work affairs, relationships with business partners and everything else that concerns the financial component of life.

For example:

  • It comes at a time when one has to undergo a test of strength in the professional sphere. This is a key time on which further career development will depend.
  • Indicates that you are out of place. The work brings neither financial nor moral satisfaction, the boss and colleagues are only annoying
  • Because of the thirst for profit, you will have to abandon most of your beliefs and moral values. It’s worth stopping and thinking about whether the game is worth the candle. In pursuit of money, you risk losing something very important and truly valuable.
  • Very often the Devil appears when a person is tempted to do something unseemly, counting on big profits. It is important to restrain yourself and not betray your beliefs, otherwise you risk “earning” a huge karmic debt that will poison the rest of your life.

The 15th lasso seems to warn: it’s time to take control of your emotions, otherwise you will ruin your life. Dependence on something or someone is always bad. The payment for a substantial jackpot may later turn out to be too huge.

The meaning of the card in various layouts

✚ "Yes-No" layout

General value

Such a card indicates a person’s ignorance, his vices, self-deception and sins. The devil tells a person that he is at a disadvantage and it is only his fault. The card encourages a person to stop, think about what he did wrong, and try to correct the mistake. The devil can also say that it is time for the fortuneteller to part with bad addictions, sins and gain self-control.

Relationship

This lasso indicates unbridled feelings and passion. The card says that this is a painful relationship, the rupture of which will bring a lot of suffering to a person. The lasso can also denote intimacy, reaching the point of perversion. The fortuneteller is bored with traditional intimacy and is looking for new sensations.

Health

There shouldn't be any health problems. However, a healthy lifestyle and medical examination will not be superfluous.

Affairs

The card promises profit. Most likely, this will be additional income. However, the lasso can also portend unexpected, easy profits, for example, winning a lottery or a casino. The card promises temporary success, but there will be no troubles in the near future. In addition, the lasso can foreshadow an office romance.

✚ For the future

The devil is a symbol of temptation, prohibition and other carnal pleasures. This is a hint that you are too materialistic about your life and do not allow emotions to take precedence over reason. This slows down the development of your destiny. But you should not take rash actions related to work or personal life. This could lead to you losing your job or your loved one. Remember that it is better to have a bird in your hands than a pie in the sky. Don’t chase illusory ideas, try to gain the ability to perceive the surrounding reality more realistically. This will help you make the right choice even in the most stressful situation. Sudden changes can damage your future and even your health.

✚ On relationships

If the Devil appears during a fortune-telling about a relationship that is going on now, then this card does not mean anything good. One of the partners, most likely, has cooled off sexually towards the other, which has led to betrayal on the part of the cooled one, which means separation is not far off.

If, during fortune telling, the card falls on a lonely person, then it is possible to meet a person with whom it will be possible to build a very stormy and passionate relationship.

However, you must understand that the basis of the relationship will be sex rather than spiritual understanding.

✚ For today

You are dominated by emotions and the desire to dominate, which prevents you from making the right decisions; you have taken the wrong path. You need to take control of your emotions to achieve success. You are under strong influence from some tyrant and dominant, which needs to change for your own good. Addiction also concerns health: drugs, alcoholism, anorexia, etc. The work prepares for you a test of the strength and strength of your moral values. A passionate relationship awaits you ahead, and if you are already in one, then take a closer look - your partner may be cheating on you!

✚ For tomorrow

Represents the lack of moderation, dependence on one’s own desires, self-destruction and indulgence in vices. The devil in a reading almost always has a negative message, but he also personifies art, creativity, as a rule, their dark side, the spirit of decline and decadence.

In plans for the future, the Devil is associated with obstacles in the implementation of plans; something may go wrong due to the lack of will or dependencies of the questioner. Perhaps a person who is deeply gambling or suffering from drug addiction will get in the way.

In work it means obstacles, unsuccessful deals, deception, possible violations of the law.

In love, the Devil falls to betrayal or indicates an unhealthy dependence on a partner.

✚ What does he think about me

A Tarot card that can open your eyes differently to the person who is next to you. Do you consider him a decent, honest, warm-hearted and kind person? This is a big misconception that needs to be dispelled as soon as possible. Your partner is a cruel, cunning person who is constantly looking for selfish components in life. He is trying to deceive you, for this he uses the love that he does not feel for you. Make sure of this and put points in such relationships. The main thing is to start thinking and taking care only of yourself.

✚ On request

Don't be afraid of your weaknesses. Stop worrying about the injustice around you. Many problems are simply far-fetched and there are actually fewer of them than they seem. Learn to accept others and yourself as they are, stop blaming yourself for every misdeed. This is where most problems are solved. Take a close look at reality, get to know your shadow side. Otherwise, you have begun liberation from shackles and obsessions. With a little more effort at this stage, your desires will begin to come true on their own in the future.

✚ On the situation

The dark past leaves its mark on the present. Possible dependence on people or alcohol, drugs. It is impossible to control the situation. Listen to the warning about temptations. Manipulation and suppression of personality are not excluded.

At the same time, success awaits you in situations related to trading, casinos, and deception. But it's better not to ignore the rules. Rethink your behavior - the path is now wrong. Get off your feet!

✚ For the betrothed

A vicious relationship based only on sexual attraction and material gain. This is precisely the meaning of the Devil card. Most likely, such a connection will not last long, because needs appear and disappear as quickly as possible, and the connection collapses after them. It is clear that if we talk about a wedding, then only for convenience, there is no point in talking about any love.

Peoples submit to his power and only a few are able to resist. Fear of him maintains his power. The genius of evil will captivate those who are ready to submit.

Human weaknesses are overwhelming and limiting. Freeing yourself from vices, overcoming dependence, softness, not submitting to passions - this is the only key that can free you from the captivity of the dark side.

✚ On the King

Your partner cannot be called a pure, sincere person with serious intentions. Perhaps your relationship is based on sex and base passions. They can be hopeless and even dangerous. You should completely reconsider your attitude towards the male sex and yourself, and face your fears. It is possible that you are being used and manipulated. All acquaintances with the opposite sex will most likely end in deception and disappointment. Be extremely careful.

Brief description of the card

The design of the Devil card was based on Eliphas Levi's famous drawing of Baphomet.
Let’s not even find out who Baphomet is and which of the many Baphomets was meant.

Perhaps this is even the classic Baphomet of the Templars

Hermaphrodite figure (Baphomet). Sculpture at the portal of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Rennes-le-Chateau. XIX century, France, Languedoc

The Devil card can be classified as a "triangular" card, just like the Hierophant, Lovers, 2 of Cups, 6 of Pentacles cards.

Katz and Goodwin write that "The other two figures are borrowed from the versions of Ettail and Papus."

And if it is obvious from Etteil that we are talking about a deck called “Type I”, then what was meant by Papus’ deck is completely unclear.

Gabriel Gulin’s deck, which illustrated Papus’ book “The Predictive Tarot,” appeared in 1909, and whether Waite saw it before finishing work on his book and deck is unknown.

And in the book “Bohemian Tarot” Papus uses cards of Wirth and the Tarot of Marseilles, which are very similar in design.
But in any case, both Wirth and Gulin relied on the design proposed in the Marseille deck.

So, if we talk about borrowing, then the Tarot of Marseilles should be considered as a prototype.

Although, sometimes the Devil can be very original, as for example in Jacques Vieville’s deck.

Main meaning of the card

Carried away by the analysis of the details of the image, Waite only in the last lines of the text about the Devil card tells us that this is “The Guard at the Threshold of the Mystical Garden, from which came those who tasted the forbidden fruit.”

In fact, it is believed that it is not the Devil who is doing this, but the Archangel Michael, armed with a fiery or flaming sword.

But the additional chapter provides more adequate meanings. Waite sees the straight card as violence, cruelty, a fatal accident. And inverted - lack of will, pettiness and blindness.

Modern meanings of the card represent the Devil card primarily as a concentration of Evil. Attempts to attribute any positive meaning to this card are dangerous. No wonder the Devil is called the Prince of Lies. Fears, mental complexes, perversions, jealousy and greed - the list goes on and on.

Neutral meanings include information and advertising, if, of course, advertising can be considered neutral.

The meaning of the card in relationships

Open-hole card

The devil is an open card. But its openness is akin to the openness of a trap. Just like the Seven of Cups, it is easy to enter and almost impossible to exit.

Relationship intensity

The intensity of relationships in this card is the highest. Hamlet's passions, emotional storms on a cosmic scale. Jealousy, envy, thirst for possession - all this is inherent in the Devil card.

Map as a scenario for relationships: love, family, relatives, work

Formally, the Devil card can describe a huge number of relationship scenarios. But there is something in common between them. First of all, it's an obsession. Obsession with an idea, turning something or someone (person, thing, idea) into a fetish. Obsession reaching the point of mania, madness, complete loss of contact with reality.

Secondly, according to the Devil card, the second party in a relationship is always a thing, an object. Object of worship, lust. Threat. A person's personal qualities do not matter. In practice, in the Devil card, a person does not deal with reality at all, but only with his devilishly distorted perception of it.

One of the features of the Devil card is its obsession with sex. Moreover, sex, whatever it may be, is always perceived as beyond the boundaries of norms. Something dirty, forbidden, perverted, obscene. What you can't do and what you can't not do.

And as icing on the cake, the Devil card can indicate extremely painful relationship patterns. For example, between Mayakovsky and Lilya Brik or Turgenev and Polina Viardot.

In combination with the Major Arcana

  • in combination with a card: Roulette wheel
  • in combination with the card: Fighting temptations
  • in combination with the card: Fears and mental disorders

Psychological condition

The map describes a whole series of emotional states. But, no matter how they look outwardly - jealousy or envy, they are almost always based on fear. And the Devil points out that it is fear that currently controls a person’s behavior, his thoughts and actions.

In combination with the suit of Wands

  • in combination with the card: Ambition and lack of coordination
  • in combination with the card: Battle with Demons
  • in combination with the card: Hide from the Devil in the Desert

The meaning of the card in health matters

The Devil is a very unpleasant card in matters of health. It may indicate problems with the blood, tumors, both benign and malignant, and inflammatory processes.

The devil is associated with numerous mental problems and the manifestation of phobias.
The Devil card can also talk about sexual perversions.

In combination with the suit of Cups

  • in combination with the card: Go over your head to achieve your goal
  • in combination with the card: Live solely for your own pleasure
  • in combination with the card: Self-deception

Business and finance, professional activities

Stability, controllability, controllability

If you think that you are able to manage or control this situation, you are mistaken. But there is such a possibility. The card is controlled by the Devil, and if you act together, playing on human weaknesses, you also control the situation. Being on the other side of the barricades, sorry - you are a victim of your own weaknesses. For example, a greedy bank created a loan agreement at 2% and wrote in small letters “plus your apartment.” The greedy man grabbed the contract, not seeing and not wanting to see the small letters. For the bank, the situation of greed was manageable, but for the client it was uncontrollable, and he “put his head in the noose.”

Ways to Increase Income (Key to Increasing Income)

Exploiting human weaknesses is an unplowed field for generating income. Our vices (greed, envy, sexual preoccupation), even harmless hobbies (stamps, cacti, scuba diving) are all someone else's profitable business. But the Devil has perfected the process. Seduction, false advertising, outright lies. In this sense, it is difficult to draw a line with the Moon card in the meaning of “deception.” And yet, a deal with the Devil is an even more sophisticated lie: they cheated you like a sucker, without telling a word of lies.
A separate article covers the sale of forbidden pleasures that fall under the criminal code.

General state of finances and trends of changes

For those who are hooked on addiction (and the Devil cannot be denied fantasy: from luxury cigars to plastic surgery, from playing poker to Forex betting) - a complete disaster. The ghost of money - I'm about to win, I'm about to live! For those who add fuel to the fire, the income is in the black. Mammon is the patron.

In the future, the situation will worsen for the former and improve for the latter.

Positive and negative impact of the card on income

Much depends on the ability of the “entrepreneur” to kindle passions in the soul of the consumer that are initially alien to him. Fear included.

The demon got me wrong. How could I buy this, do this? Lack of self-control can lead to the fact that a person does not distinguish between his own needs and inspired, false ones. There is no positive for them. Moreover, problems arise that are not immediately noticeable. Interest accrues not only on material debts, but also on karmic ones. And in this sense, everyone is equal for the Devil: both his victims and his willing helpers.

In combination with the suit of Swords

  • in combination with the card: Terrible health condition; terrible, heartbreaking news
  • in combination with the card: The struggle between temptation and morality
  • in combination with card: Unmotivated cruelty

Don't let your fears control you.

In combination with the suit of Pentacles

  • in combination with the card: The devil is pushing you by the arm
  • in combination with the card: Help as a way to amuse the Sense of Self-Importance
  • in combination with the card: Hidden threat to family well-being

Questions to ask when drawing a card?

  • What tempts you?
  • Why and what are you jealous of?
  • Think about what hidden dangers could threaten you?
  • Are you really going to outwit the Devil?
